How do I upload photos?

There are two ways to upload photos to RunRyder. The first way is to go to my MY GALLERY (located at the top of every page). At the bottom of the screen is a Upload Photo or File box. In this box, click "Browse" to search your computer for the photo you wish to upload. Once you find the photo double click on it to insert it into the RR browser. Once the photo is in the RR browser click the "Start Upload" button.

You can upload up to four photos at a time. The maximum size for each file is 10MB. You can only upload photos with the following extensions: jpg gif png txt html doc mid pdf pps psd rec dmo zip . RunRyder recommends uploading unaltered original photo files.

After an upload is complete you will see a thumbnail like the one below. This temporary thumbnail will change after RunRyder processing is complete. RunRyder hand processes every photo for visual appeal and efficient Internet download and display size. The hand processing occurs several times a day.

**Free My Gallery uploads are only available on Mondays. If you would like to upload any day of the week, Join Club20. It is a one time $20 gate fee that removes advertising from My Gallery and allows you to upload seven days a week.

You can also upload photos seven days a week using the MyFastPhoto toolbar when creating a private message, new topic, or a post reply. This is a fast and easy way to insert images directly into a post or pm.

When creating a post or pm, browse and select an individual photo or a zip file containing multiple photos off your hard drive. RunRyder back end processing will unzip and process all files uploaded. Only photos with the extensions of jpg, gif, or png can be uploaded using MyFastPhoto. 25MB is the maximum file size for all four upload types. After processing, FastPhotos are displayed as following:

When you click on a FastPhoto thumbnail like the one above, a larger image without the stamp will be displayed.

**To learn more about where your FastPhotos are stored see: Help-FAQ: Where is MyFastPhoto collection?
How do I delete my photos?

Gallery photos can be deleted by going to your gallery and clicking the DISPLAY ALL link (located in the top left of your gallery). [Delete] links will appear above each of your pictures. Click the "delete" link above the photos you want to remove.

To delete your Fast Photos, click the MFP link to the right of DISPLAY ALL in your gallery. This will bring up a page with all your RR Fast Photos. [Delete] links will be above each of your pictures. Click the "delete" link above the photos you want to remove.
How do I display a photo in a forum post?

There are several different ways you can add a photo to a post. The first way is to use the MyFastPhoto toolbar. This is a fast and easy way to insert images directly into a post. When creating a post, browse and select an individual photo or a zip file containing multiple photos off your hard drive. Once you select your photo or zip file, click the "Upload" button. Only photos with the extensions of jpg, gif, or png can be uploaded using MyFastPhoto. FastPhotos are processed and displayed as following:

Once the photo is uploaded it will automatically be displayed in your Photo Cache. You must check the Add Photo Cache box in the Options category and then click the “Preview” button to have your rrFastPhoto inserted into your post.

The second way you can add photos to a post is by uploading photos to My Gallery. Once the photo(s) is located in your gallery, follow the steps shown below:

Use the MY GALLERY link at the top of any
RR page to upload and manage your photos.

The following screen pops up with your selection.

Then you insert photo cache with create new topic, post reply or edit post.

Please note that your browser must be able to preview your message composition for photo
cache to work. If not then click each photo cache thumbnail and copy and paste code displayed.

Also see Automatic Page Display to fix message preview problem.

You can also use pictures from other member's gallery by following the same steps above.

**You can add photos from another website to your post by following the steps here:
How do I post a full size image instead of a thumbnail?

First, right click on the full size image that you want to use in your post. Select "Properties" and copy the complete URL address. Then go about creating a post as you normally would.

When you get to the place where you would like the image to appear, click the IMG format button. A small window will open. Paste the URL into that window and click "OK". A special HTTP code will be inserted into your post. Caution - do not alter the URL or it will not work. Then just finish your post and submit it. Your full size image should automatically appear in your post.

At the very bottom you should see 'Properties'. Left click on "Properties". Under the 'General' tab, look for 'Address (URL)'. Copy the complete address URL.

When creating a new topic or when you post reply, in the Options category you have the opportunity to select Wide View. Selecting "Wide View" displays large photos in wide format. (700 pixel width recommended). See example below:

After you select Wide View, submit your post and your image will appear in wide format.

Where did that photo go? Did you know ...

How do I get my photo on the top right hand corner of RR?

First upload colorful, attractive, RC heli photos via My Gallery.

RunRyder hand processes, reviews and selects from these uploads.

If a photo is selected for RunRyder's Main Helicopter Gallery then it will be displayed in rotation on RunRyder's home page. These photos display at a random starting point each time you visit the site.

Additional photos may also be selected to represent "The Best of" photos in RunRyder's Electric, Scale and Turbine Galleries.

My Gallery uploads are available every Monday. Join Club20 and upload seven days a week.
Can I put a RunRyder photo as my desktop background and if so how?

Yes, you can use a RunRyder photo as your desktop background.

In the top right of any gallery, mark the "Printing" option:

Click on the image you wish to use to display the full size image. Then right click on the photo to save. Insert the saved image into your desktop background display program.
How do I embed a YouTube video into my post?

You first need to locate the video ID that YouTube assigned the video you want to use. For example this video's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gi7G-VzU2r4) ID is: gi7G-VzU2r4

Then when you create a new topic or a post reply, add the RR youtube tags to your video id. For example: This will embed the video into your post.

**Sharing videos of your hobby is what this is about. Videos that display commercial watermarks and or hobby advertisements will be pinked and closed. An opening title listing pilot name and a simple list of parts is OK.
Can I add a video to My Gallery?

Yes. The video must be 10mb or less and be a .zip file. Upload the video in MY GALLERY the same way you would upload a photo. After you upload the video, you need to place the file information in your script to have it displayed in your gallery.
How to watch rrTV video

You will need to install and use one of the following media players to watch rrTV:

Two Ways to Watch:

The Advantage of Watching Embedded rrTV

This screen shot shows the Windows Media Player embedded within the RR full screen popup video display page. The main advantage here is that the video will start playing almost immediately and before the video is completely downloaded.

My FastPhoto and PhotoCache is not working.

This is most likely a cache problem. Always do a Ctrl-F5 refresh first. Then next try deleting your temporary internet files (cache) and off line content. (How to Clear Your Cache).

Your ISP could also cause problems by caching RunRyder’s pages.

Also see Automatic Page Display.
Error- "Document contains no data" when trying to upload photos.

You might have a slow or flaky route to RunRyder. To debug your individual internet route to RR you need to go to your personal computer command window. (to get to your command window go to Start - Run, and then type in "cmd").

Type the following into your Command Window: C:\tracert runryder.com

Example of a fast connection (+150 ms would be slow):

I cannot see all the photos on certain pages.

This typically happens when there has been a disruption in the loading of a page. Grey boxes or blank boxes will appear where the photos should be. To fix this problem:
