To complete the registration, you need to access your email and click on the RunRyder Confirmation Email link. This step confirms your registration and confirms you have entered a valid, working email address.

Please note, that entering your email address will not leave you open to 'spam'. Your email address will always remain hidden. Any email messages sent to you by members will not reveal your address.
How do I register?

At the top of every page is a REGISTER link (located to the left of START HERE). Click on this link to begin the registration process.

To activate your account, you need to check your email and confirm your registration by clicking on the RunRyder Confirmation Email link that is given to you. If the RunRyder Confirmation Email was blocked or not received within 5 minutes, please check if you correctly entered your email address. If you need to reenter your email, go to myHome - Edit Profile. Change your email address and "Submit Modifications". If you continue to have problems registering or activating your account, please pmRR.
Does this forum use cookies?

The RunRyder system requires the use of a cookie for members to participate and for guests to have the ability to View New Posts. The cookie keeps track of user name, password and last visit time. This cookie is managed by your internet browser and is stored on your local hard disk.

If your browser blocks the RunRyder cookie (privacy settings too high) you will not be able to login.
How do I clear my cookies?

Clear your cookies by following the steps for your browser here.

Once you complete the process above, restart your computer.
How do I change the information in my profile?

It is your responsibility to keep your email address and profile current. All profile fields may be edited by you except for your member name. pmRR with a requested member name change.
How do I change my email address?

Your rrEmail address can be edited at myHome – Edit Profile.
How do I change my member name?

pmRR with the requested name change. Once the change is made, all of your existing posts and content will show your new member name.
What is the signature for?

This is a piece of text that is inserted at the end of all your posts. Signatures are limited to 100 characters with no formatting expect <br>. If you have specified a signature, then the forum will automatically append your signature to any messages you post. You can disable signatures on a per-post basis by un-checking the Show Signature Option when you compose your message.

You can set your signature by editing your profile.

RunRyder Signature Policy

  • Signatures are limited to 100 characters. For line breaks use: <br>. No other code is allowed.
  • No commercial links or advertising are allowed.
  • Signatures may include: name, heli affiliations or light humor.
  • NO political or religious statements.
  • NO personal opinions.
  • NO comments directed toward RunRyder or other RunRyder members.
What are the buddy and ignore lists and how do I add someone to either list?

Add members to your buddy list to help you keep track of forum members and friends. At myHome, you can see which of your buddies are currently online. Adding people to your buddy list also allows you to easily send them a private message.

To add members to your buddy list, click the BUDDY link in a member’s posts or check the "BUDDY" box and then "Submit Modifications" at the bottom of a member’s profile.

Adding a member to the ignore list prevents you from seeing any of that member's posts or topics. You will also be unable to send or receive private messages from an ignored member. But you still can send and receive emails from an ignored member. The IGNORE link is always located next to the BUDDY link.

Go to myHome to view or edit your buddy and ignore lists.
Why is there a dot next to certain member names (for example: •Iluvflyn)?

The • symbol next to a member's name notifies you that you have private notes and/or a mouse over value stored in their profile.
What are My Private Notes?

In every member profile page you can save private notes pertaining to that individual. Once you add private notes to a member’s profile, a • symbol will be displayed in front of their member name to notify you that you have notes about this individual.

In addition, this feature gives you a personal scratchpad in your own profile. The fastest way to your profile is myHOME and then click on your name.

As a logged in member the notes you create are only seen by you.
What is the Member Name Mouse Over field located in My Private Notes?

The 'Member Name mouse over' field allows you to assign a descriptive tag or name to help you identify a member. The description you assign will appear whenever you hover over their username anywhere on the site.

For Example:

Once you add a 'Member Name mouse over' text to a member’s profile, a • symbol will be displayed in front of their name to notify you that you have made a note about this individual.

If this field is left blank, the member's location appears whenever you hover over their name.
What does RunRyder Member Status stand for?

Status is based on post count. Off Topic and Classified posts do not count.
  • New Heliman (less than 30 posts and registered less than 180 days)
  • Heliman (30 posts or registered 180 days or more)

If you forget your password, you can click on the Password Recovery link on any page that requires you to fill in your password. Enter your registered email address and your password will immediately be emailed to you.
I cannot view any new posts or private messages.

This is typically a cache display issue. If your browser is displaying incorrect or out of date data, do a Ctrl-F5 or a Ctrl-R refresh. Next you should delete your temporary internet files (How to Clear Your Cache) and off line content.

Your ISP could also cause problems by caching RunRyder’s pages. See Automatic Page Display to resolve this problem.
I cannot log out of RunRyder.

The RR logout link is located at myHome and on the bottom right of the home page.

To fix logout problems you need to search for and delete all RunRyder cookies (How to Delete Cookies). After you locate your cookie directory(s), delete all cookie files with names that contain "runryder" and/or the IP text "205.134.230.242". After deleting the RR cookie files, reboot your computer.
