Member Name Color Coding and Symbols Explanation

  • Red = You
  • Blue = Buddy
  • Green = New Member (less than 30 posts and/or less than 180 days)
  • Grey = Member account not fully activated due to incorrect e-mail address or no response to email confirmation upon registration.
  • Dot (•) = A dot symbol shows that you have Private Notes or a Name Mouse Over value under that member's profile.
  • Three Red Dots (•••) = Under a member’s topics, it signifies that the individual is the topic starter.
Why is my member name red?

Every logged-in member's name is red. Only you will see your member name colored in red. The red coloring highlights your topic involvement.
Why is there a dot next to certain member names (for example: •Iluvflyn)?

The • symbol next to a member name notifies you that you have put Private Notes or a Name Mouse Over value under their member profile.

"Mouse over" is the term used to indicate the text that appears next to your mouse pointer when you hold it over a link. You can enter in each member's profile page your own "special" text to pop up when you mouse over their name. If you do not assign a "Member Name Mouse Over" value then the member's location will pop up when you mouse over their name.
Did you know the symbol is a link to all the topics containing your posts?

The symbol (located below myHOME, on the home page) is a link to all topics containing your posts.

This is important to know because topics get moved on occasion and this link allows you to locate your posts. Most topic moves are made to improve discussion.
Is there a quick way to jump to the next forum?

Yes. Click the top left RR logo found on every page to view the next forum:

The Advantage of Watching Embedded rrTV

This screen shot shows the Windows Media Player embedded within the RR full screen popup video display page. The main advantage here is that the video will start playing almost immediately and before the video is completely downloaded.

What is START HERE?

START HERE is a link to the last seven days of topics with the newest first. START HERE is replaced with NEW SUBS when there are new posts in your subscribed topics. Once you click NEW SUBS, START HERE will reappear.

START HERE - Display Options
START HERE has several different display options. The default option shows all topics on RunRyder from the last seven days with the newest first. However you may refine your display by excluding three forum areas; they are Off-Topics, Classifieds or Electrics.

Clicking on an option excludes that category from the posts you see, click again and it is included. For example, if your display options are set as following: Display Options: Off Topics - Classifieds - Electrics , Classified and Off Topic posts will not be displayed.

Also under START HERE members have the ability to view posts under a certain category. Besides View New Posts, members can look individually at their personal subscriptions, classifieds, or electrics. For example, choosing VIEW ALL Electrics will display all electric posts on the site with the newest post being first.

The NEW symbol denotes all new posts since the last time you Mark New Read or since you were last active on the site. The time of your last visit can be seen at the top right corner of the screen. Top (Top 03-06-2007 05:27 PM) is the current time and Bottom (Bottom 03-06-2007 05:20 PM) is the last time you Mark New Read or it is the last time you were active on the site.

**Member default automatically marks posts read after 30 minutes of inactivity. To change this setting go to myHome – Edit Options.
Can I block certain forums when I’m viewing new posts?

Yes- VIEW NEW POSTS has several different display options. The default option shows all new posts since your last visit. The different displays options allow members to refine what new post categories they would like to see. Marking one of the display options excludes that category from the new posts you see. For example, if your display options are set as following: Display Options: Off Topics - Classifieds - Electrics , your view new posts will not display any Classified or Off Topic posts.

Also under VIEW NEW POSTS, members have the ability to view posts under a certain category. You can look individually at your personal subscriptions, classifieds, or electrics. For example, choosing VIEW ALL Electrics will display all new electric posts with the newest topic being first.

Why are certain topics under myHome and START HERE grayed out?

Grayed out topics means Off Topics or the topic is closed.
What does Mark Subs Read and Mark New Read stand for?

Mark Subs Read is a link that marks all your subscription posts as being read, clearing NEW symbols that point to unread subscription posts.

Mark New Read is a link that marks all new posts as being read, clearing all NEW symbols on the site.

Under your Subscriptions in myHome, all new and unread activity since your last visit is marked with NEW in front of the topic title. You can also denote new and unread activity in the Last Post column. The Last Post category with a yellow background denotes new activity since your last visit or since you’ve marked Mark Subs Read and/or Mark New Read. A red background in the Last Post column denotes the topic's last post is more than a day old.
How do I view all my new subscriptions and then mark them all read?

If you have new subscriptions since your last visit, click on the NEW SUBS link at the top right of the homepage. This will take you to your new subscriptions. After you are done reviewing your new subscriptions, chose Mark Subs Read. This link marks all your subscriptions read.

You can also view new subscriptions by clicking the START HERE link at the top right of the homepage. Then select Subscriptions. After you are finished reading all new posts under your subscriptions, select Mark Subs Read.
Is there a way to mark all topics read?

Yes, under START HERE or View New Posts there is a link at the bottom right corner of the screen titled Mark New Read. It removes all NEW symbols in front of every forum and topic.

**Member default automatically marks posts read after 30 minutes of inactivity. To change this setting go to myHome – Edit Options.
Can I search the forum?
