I am getting close to finishing my Joker and was wondering what kind of starter everyone was using?

Sullivan and Hobbico make nice starters

Don. Nice to hear from you again. Good Question. On the subject of Joker starters. I use either the Sullivan or the Hobbico hi-torque starter on mine. It took me a while to find the start shart. I had to take the main blades and rotor head off, but there it was. I do find it a bit tedious to put the head and blades back on while the motor is turning at such a high rpm. But with a bit of practice, you'll master it.

Actually, I think that it has one of the "special" motors that need to be hand propped!

Don't forget that there really is a glow powered Joker. Not sure how many have sold though.

Technically it's not a "Joker Acrobat" It would be a "Minicopter Acrobat"...

Minicopter makes both the Joker & the Acrobat... Two entirely different machines that share a common head system...

The big difference being that the Joker is an E-Heli, and the Acrobat is a slimer...

Well.. maybe Joe should really clarify on the site as Minicopter Acrobat We go by what the site says..

Quote
The exciting new Joker Acrobat combines the marvelous flying characteristics of the MFS Rotor Head with the massive power of a .90 sized engine in a super light weight yet extremely ridge platform. This Joker Acrobat prototype was unveiled at the 2003 IRCHA event. I

So in that context, it does make sense.

You can go with Joe but he might lead you down the path... check out the Minicopter site and you will see that the FACTORY makes a Joker (E-Heli) and an Acrobat (IC heli)...

Now unless Joe makes the decisions for Gerd these days, I'd say that Joe has it a bit mixed up...

Gerd felt is was fine to call it the Joker Acrobat since most people do not really associate the Minicopter name anyway to the Joker. Joker has had much more exposure than Minicopter.
