Thunder Tiger Raptors 30-90 - Imperio > 20oz fuel tank for Raptor 50

Hello again,
First this is on behalf of my flying buddy Tim. He has just converted his R30v2 to a 50V2 and was very impressed with the power but not so impressed with the flight times/fuel consumption. He and the owner of the LHS (Hobby Zone , Edwin) got together and started test fitting Dubro fuel tanks into Tim's R50.
They came up with the 20 oz tank as being a very slight interference fit between the frame rails and a bit of foam between the tank and the boom struts where it exits the back of the frame. The tank is placed in the frame on its side.
His Raptor is nose heavy with no fuel and (now) tail heavy with full fuel. We both flew it and it would hover hands off for a couple seconds at the beginning and the end of the fuel tank. He's still running pretty rich and can get 15 minutes of solid FFF/mild 3D.
I can get some photos of it later and post them here. We put a few flights on it today and a bunch of piros and the tank is very secure.

I have heard the Raptor 60 fuel tank will fit in the Raptor 50. Is this true and has anyone tried it?
I myself am not impressed with my 9 1/2 min flight times with my OS.50 with the 60L carb. I would like a bigger tank but I also don't want an awkward looking fuel setup. Any retrofit pictures would be welcome.

Uniflow fuel system

I am interested in converting to the 20oz tank with uniflow plumbing, but I do not know where to purchase the fuel system. I searched a couple of online merchants with no luck. Any suggestions?

Probably awesome flight time, but to heavy for 3D. How much does she weight? Thanks for posting. I`ll check back later for the PIC`s.

BigJon, with full fuel it weighs 8pounds, 13oz.
After a few minutes, it's down to what it would normally be anyway, right? This gives you the option to fly for 15+ minutes or don't fill it up and fly it with the stock amount of fuel.........

Thanks Joe and C-Dog. Here is the large (550cc) fuel tank that I installed tonight. I drilled a 5/16 hole in the rear of the frame for the exhaust to tank tubing.
I used a butane torch and my glass patio table to melt, flatten, and seal the lower nipple on the tank. Really happy with how it came out.

Not only can a R60 tank fit in there but mine has a R90 tank shoehorned in. Just ensure you have some type of material to dampen the vibrations from the frame onto the tank or else you will be carving nice little groves into them.

Dubro Fuel Tank Part #

tailrotordave

Do you have the Part # for the Dubro 20 oz. fuel tank? Do you have any pictures of the front of the tank where the plumbing is? Does the opening on the front of the tank for the fuel line exit come straight forward or is it on a slant?

Thanks in advance for any additional information.

Hirobo Tank

Just put in an Hirobo 480cc tank in a R50. Small enough to get in between the frame and secure it with silicon and nylon straps. Will try it out this weekend if weather permits.
