| Ethan,
Give it a shot...it's a ton of fun!!
Plus it's fun to show your friends at night over a few beverages.
rocketman77,
I gave a quick demo on a 65", and then
on a 106" display, and we were surprised, but alas we all saw
the downfalls and what needs to be worked on. After studying a bunch of aerial documentaries on HDNet and Discovery HD in the last year I see what the final goal is. (If that is even reachable??)
What sticks in my mind is a 10 second clip of a golf course that had a flight starting at the tee box, moved forward along the tops of the trees over the fairway to simulate a golf balls arc, and then ending at the green. After tipping over my drink in excitement I looked to my girlfirend and said" that is the coolest thing I've seen all week!".
My wish list is to try out a K2 Gyro with a camera with Optical Stabilization which should eliminate the side to side slop. What I'm more interested in though is holding the tilt level at all times regardless of the plane of the disc. Might also try putting a spare 401 on a 9303 (tilt) and see how that works out.
Also, another favorite aerial that everyone should check out is "Winged Migration". Simply amazing....
Jason,
The camera was an older Canon ZR-10 (miniDV). It's been down the Grand Canyon on a 26 day raft trip so it has had it's share of sandbox/cheap beer exposure. I'm leaning towards a 3CCD Panny, but first I have to see how my health insurance takes care of my last surgery.
Cheers,
Jeff |
