Ok what’s the secret here, or am I just way to tired and brain fried? Please help Futaba Guru’s!

Problem: Throttle ATV’s and Throttle Cut.

Radio: Futaba 9ZHP
Engine: YS .80 ST3
Servo: Futaba 9202
Throttle Curve: Linear

1. Throttle ATV’s set to 96% A (Low Stick) – 96% B (High Stick): Engine index marks line up for full throttle, ½ throttle, and close. Everything is at 90 degrees.

2. Now how do I set up “Throttle Cut”, not the switch….

Is the secret to decrease the Throttle ATV “A Side (Low Stick)” to something like 86%, (so throttle is actually open from throttle close) and then set the “Throttle Cut” rate to a value that closes the throttle barrel?

If this is the answer, my Throttle ATV’s would be 86% A (Low Stick) – 96% B (High Stick), and then with Throttle Cut Enabled, the throttle would actually close, (like it was set up at 96% A in step #1. Is this correct, or is there a better way, so that I can keep 96% A – 96% B, and then have the throttle cut to retard the throttle barrel to close?

I’m so confused, I should have been in bed 7.5 hours ago…..argh!!!

Thanks!

another possibilty...

With the throttle trim at 0, the cut won't work, it has no where to move the barrel to. Make sure that the trim is up - throttle barrel at idle or so.

I too have been caught by this, and just recently! This radio is not new to me either.

Thl-cut

Jeff--- Keep your 96%-96% settings, as long as thl closed is closed, not idle. Make sure ATL-C is set per Martin and thl trim is centered. Go to MDL screen activate CUT and select a switch. Set percentage to between 5 and 10. Go to COND screen and bring up TCV and set point 1 to a number that will bring thl barrel to idle. Shape your curve from there. Cut switch should now close thl barrel . At times the 9Z can try ones patience.

Thanks All....

Later today I'll try the setup.... It looks perfect, thanks everyone for all the help. I'll post my success and or problems, but I don't think I'll have any. Your right, the 9Z is a bear sometimes, 17 different ways to "skin a cat"...

Thanks,
