I got a vario Dauphin with gasser mechanics what is the best headspeed for the 4 bladed head? also does anyone have any ideas about vibrations? no matter what the whole body shakes everthing is brand new and the blades have been checked and tracked at certain headspeeds its worst than others i have the ccpm upgrade frame set and if you push the head side to side you can see the frames flex is this normal?
Thanks

Check your needles settings on the motor. Have the low at 1and1/4 open from closed, and the high at 1and 1/8. Turn the hover head speed down so you have around 1400 rpm and see what happens.

If you have the two bolt head. Chech the distance from blade tip to blade tip. On mine, as well as some others around here. They could be off 1/2 inch or so. I took my blades and tried them in different blade grips. I got the distance differance down to less that 1/8 of an inch. The vibration (shake) went away. Vario says that there should be no differance. "There is!!!!!!"

thanks guys will check all that. does the needle setting very from a nitro motor this is the rc230 motor. and i know that all the blades are the same length, is the differece in the distance of the blade grips? and any ideas on the frames? i was running it yesterday at different head speeds and during spool up you could see the main shaft move around with the head then once past that point it would all center back up. thats how i found that the mechanics are flexing. I am running jr 8411 servos for the ccpm and thought that might be the problem but have checked the out several times, also running a gv1 to set head speed with. it is under 1000 rpm that it is doing this.
Thanks

I found that with these big heavy helo's that it is best to slow the head speed down and load the engine a little bit! These Gas engines love a little load. I run my Vario Huey at 1050 RPM at the head and the engine sounds like it's just above an Idle!! My Vario Carbon AirWolf with the 800 mm Blades Runs at 1090 RPM with No Problem at all!! The trick is to get a good throttle curve then work on your Pitch curve to bring head speed down and keep the same RPM throughout the flight!! A bit of Time but worth it! I run about 7 Degrees of pitch at hover with my 22 lb. Airwolf. Good Luck
