Water cooling does it all. We could make that kind of horsepower if we could get the heat out. The boat guys have an infinite heat sink with a constant temp gradient. We also need longer lasting engines that idle perfectly and transition well, and the boat guys want to win races. With helis skill beats power almost every time.

YesI agree skill does beat power
Its just that power you can buy but not skill
It grinding hard effort

This Dyno they have could refine our motors too
Thats obvious as you can see that the manufacturers dont know how to set a Squish

boats n heloskey veteran :has it right ,I have both and if you think it doesnt take any skill to drive a boat then think again!!! I crash my boat a lot more than my helo. but it is the constant temp that makes the difference and 60% doesnt hurt

Guys -
How about wrapping thin copper tube round the head and running CO2 through it from a small co2 engine cartridge and valve. Would this cool enough to allow increased HP? And would the benefit outway the weight/ expense and cost?
If I had the parts and money was not an issue I would try this.
You could also run the pipe through the fan duct to cool the air flow and therefore run more fuel due to more oxygen. A bit like an intercooler on a car engine.
