I am new to the hobby & have been recommended the above as a good starter radio for heli's.
I am planning on purchasing a Raptor 30 as a starter machine.

I have read a lot on various forums that recommend i purchase at least an 8-channel radio so i don’t outgrow it. I have seen the above priced at £159 & am now wandering if i should shell out the extra £100 pound for the 7-8 channel box.

What would i use the extra channels for?

Your thoughts would be appreciated.

I'd go for the Super version, which I think I've seen advertised for less than £200 recently(may only have four servos for this price). Good idea to specify ballrace servos 'cos they will have a hard life. An extra £25 for the five.
It will cost you far more than £250 to future-proof your radio!

Sanwa (airtronics radio)

With regards to the super600 type radio if you intend to use the csm 400gyro. The sanwa radio has no sperate switch for it ,you have to use one of the idle-up switches. Also if you intend to go scale helis in a big way eg : vario ( as i have gone to a benzin trainer in a jet ranger body) the sanwa radio cannot handle four servo's for this type of CCPM swash plate. I myself am going to get a futaba Z9UHP and go to digital servos. yes more expensive to start with but cheaper in the long run i was told this and thought i would manage with the sawa. i wish i had listened. Im going to try out one of these new co-pilot aids too just to see how lazy it makes me,
