Hi folks

Could someone talk me through the auto setings I read in a post a while back to set the hold to around 10% power so the engine never ****s (Ooops edit - SHUTS) right down.

Recently I went for an auto, flicked hold, came down, to test the bail out went to start up again and it had shut right down. It may have shut right down when the engine ramped up again, not sure as it was so quiet.

Landed okay, needless to say but need as little help on working this out.

Freud would have been proud of that one! What a great description!

I haven't tried it yet, but I was told 30% was a better setting.

I was in stitches what I saw it! How true!

Now that the weather is getting better, we're getting busier - isn't that always the way it goes?

We are trying to get the Phoenix for the fun-fly this weekend, it's about a 6-hour drive, hopefully things will settle down enough to go!

Let me know what setting works best for you, I'll try it after that!

Just received an email from a local Joker-CX pilot, he sets the throttle for 50% for autoration practice, but still reminded me not to flip it out of throttle-hold on the ground or I'd be in for a surprise!

Why would this be a problem ? it would depend to which % throttle you switch to ?

Yes, it would depend on it - but I run 90% throttle on the CX (for a 1700rpm head speed), so going from 50% to 90% in an instant would spin that puppy around FAST!

I'm flat-lined at 100% at Idleup1 so doing this at low stick (-10deg) would probably screw my camera mount into the ground
