As far as I know, there are only 2 good fields near me in Michigan......the one at Freedom Hill and the one in Northville.

I checked out a field that is in White Lake, but it doesn't look to be at all Heli Friendly!

I really want to come see you guys in Northville. Kevan sent me an invite last season, but I didn't get there. Now my skills are a bit more stable for public view, so I am gonna get there, hopefully before your FunFly next month!!

If there is one closer, cool, but what I want the most is some good company with good advice......and alot of FUN!!

Thanks

Darin

There is no such thing as your flying being ready for public appearance.
Remeber we were all there at some point in time, and you should take full advantage of being able to learn from our mistakes.

R/C heli flying is 85% set-up and 15% pilot.
So let us help your learning curve improve.

e-mail me at R1sportbike@yahoo.com anytime you want to come out to the field. It will be worth the drive.

Darin,

I live in Auburn Hills, and do all of my flying with the guys in Northville. If I can get out of work close to 5PM, I will go down there, and if the weather is good on the weekend, we are there the WHOLE weekend (roughly 9AM to sundown, on Sat. and Sun.)

I have done a bit of looking around for somewhere closer to where I work (in Clarkston) for the times when I can't get out of work in time, but haven't found one. Even if I did, I would still do 95% of my flying at the field in Northville.

It's not very far.....

I went to Kalamazoo to see family and clocked how long it took to get there........we left at 6:00 on Friday and it only took 35 min to get to the Beck road exit..........that's Friday around rush hour!!

I will be seeing you there soon!!!!

Thanks

OK guys....I too am having problems finding a club to fly my heli's at. A little too much airplane activity at local clubs. Really need some experienced tweaking help. Work in Auburn Hills but live in Goodrich (East of Grand Blanc). Driving is no problem if its alright to get together with you guys once in a while.
Have a ErgoSS CCPM (Marble with a stick), Ergo 50 (max. gas sucker) and my new Fury 61 expert. Let me know if I'm welcome.

Come on out. We have plenty of heli pilots and a beautiful facility to fly at. The experience level at our field is very high, so you have many people to learn from and a variety of teaching styles.

AGREED!!!!

Howard spent time with me last week and got my Sceadu 50 totally dialed in! He even got my Nexus feeling like a totally different bird........so you know he knows what he is doing

I spent several hours there on Saturday with Howard and Pete just watching and listening, what a learning experience. I even missed all but the last 3 minutes of the Red Wings game because I was having sooooo much fun.......and if you look at my screen name and my gallery, you'll know it MUST have been worth it for me

Thanks again, Kevan for the invite......and thanks Howard for the time and setup help!!!

Thank you for the invite. What is the club's name? Could you please give me directions? Is this the club that is going to have the Fun Fly at the end of this month? Maybe this Saturday will be without rain. Wind doesn't bother me too much.
Thanks

We also have two websites:

http://www.midwestrchelicopters.org

and

http://www.midwestrcsociety.org

the heli one is in transition, so everything may not work correctly.

As we said before, we are normally out there all weekend, and also on weeknights if the weather is OK (in other words, not raining). We don't care about wind unless it is really bad.

The fun-fly is at our field, but is being put together by a few members of the club. It's not really being put on by the club, just hosted there. It should be big.

Come on out and have some fun.
