Beginners Corner > Pitch / Throttle curves?

Hi,

I'm trying to setup my pitch and throttle curves. I have a JR8103 radio. My helis are a Raptor 30 and an Ergo 46. I've read that it's best to set everything to hover at 3/4 stick versus 1/2 stick. I set my Raptor for 3/4 stick hover and it's feels sensitive to stick movement. Maybe I'm not ready for such a sensitive stick being a newbie and all. Can someone tell me the best setup. If 3/4 stick hover is the way to go then I'll go that way! Thanks all.

IF u get into 3d, than your setup will eventually be with upright hover at 5/8 to 3/4 and inverted hover at 1/4 to 3/8. Some say learn with 3/4 stick hover, but I agree that it is a little sensitive for the "newbie".

There is no right or wrong, but try like 1/2 to 5/8, and u can make ur curve smoother and less sensitive. It will be a while b4 u need that 3/4 hover, and by that time, u should be a very capable pilot and should adjust easily to the change in hover position.

For years the normal was a 1/2 stick hover and than switch (while flying) to 3d curve which had hover in different spot, which was never a problem for most. The downside was when u switched curves you had to have close to full collective or u would see the helicopter jump.

Enjoy......

Agreed.

If your just learning, you don't have the 'fine touch'
yet so 3/4 hover will make the machine quite
sensitive.

Either live w/ it and learn it that way or reset
thing so you hover at 1/2 and when your ready
for 3D, make the switch to 3/4 hover. It's not
a big deal and only takes a tank or 3 of fuel to
aclimate yourself to the new hover position.
