So, what's out there? I am NOT impressed with the various woodies that the Empire offers, and you can get a good set of 60 size 680s for what they want for their 530 glass blades.

I haven't been keeping up with what's new, etc., so I don't have a clue who's got what these days. There have been a bunch of new blade firms come along in the past few years.

12mm roots are a must, but it doesn't matter whether the drag hole is 3mm or 4mm; I've got Kalt step-down spacers for the 4mm holes.

Educate me, please.

NHP makes spacers Steve that can make the grips 12mm if you find something even narrower at that length. My Voyager IMZ is 14mm, The V-Blades I ordered came at 12. I ordered a bag of 1mm spacers through the LHS via Horizon.

The grips ARE 12mm, Rick; this is a Concept, remember?

I HATE those grip shims. I don't know why; they are no more of a hassle than many helo-related things. Maybe I'm getting neurotic...

With my Voyager the grips are 14mm. With out having to special order some V-Blades from HeliProz I just took what they had, 600mm with a 12mm root. It was quicker to use the shims than to wait for blades. On my CS I run 700 V-Blades with a 18mm root and a 5mm bolthole. This too allowed me to get away from any spacers, which I also prefer not to use if possible. I would think then 12mm is about the standard for a root thickness of a blade. I was thinking for that shorter size that maybe they came in 10mm and you would possible have to shim. You may just have to pay the price for quality. I know my V-Blades for my Voyager IMZ were the same price as my CS. Just write the check and grin and bare it. It will only hurt for a bit. At least we have a fairly cheap hobby. I have a friend with a 42,000 dollar Harley. Then you see these guys with a 20-foot Ranger bass boat. You can have a fleet of heli's with a 9z for each one and still have less money rapped up in this hobby. Good Luck in your quest.

I had completely forgotten about Hi-Products. Good stuff; but aren't those 550s? The stock SR takes 530s; and with that DDF head, I'm not about to risk a blade strike by overlapping the disks.

12mm is pretty much standard for Japanese ships (except for JR)- at least it used to be. The Germans like 14mm, so Robbe/Schluter and X-Cell uses that size. Those JR 18mm grips with the 5mm bolt first showed up over here on the Big Sluggo; it was quite a while before any US sources had blades to fit, and then the first ones available were NHPs, I'm pretty sure.

Anyway, there is a ton of 550s out there. But I need 530s. Anyone???

Hey Steve, don't overlook the new NHP Razor 530's. AWESOME blades, totally different design from the old Sport II's and have a finished tip , very low drag.

I use the 550 Razors on my Nexus, and the 710's on my Futura SE.

I am waiting on the 600mm Razors to come out so I can put them on my stretched Raptor.

Give em a try, you won't be sorry, and the price is right!
