about 9 minutes of hard flying. it could be stretched to 12 if you're taking it easy.

What kind of headspeed and gearing are you running?

i'm running at about 1900rpm now, with an 8T pinion and 93T main gear. full throttle gives about 2100rpm.

i have also updated the original post with the new link. this video is with an 11s3p thunder power pack. i'm now flying 12s3p, which has significantly more power. i'll have video of the 12s3p soon.

Hey guys, I had a chance to see ben fly this thing live, I happened to be in cali recently and ran into him at the Carson flying field (I think this is the same Ben right??)

I grabbed my tac as soon as I saw Ben walk out with this thing, and on the full climb I had him at 1940 man was this thing impressive!!!

A whole lot of power and seemed to fly damn nice. Good job Ben...

yeah, i have been talking to greg about that. he says the motor will start up with 600mm blades, but not with 710s. pretty weird. i think my 40.70 uses the same software as the 40.160, so it should work fine.

Hey, Greg here, saw you talking about me! :^)

Ture, I did have a problem at first, turned out that the Schulze wanted to see a different gear ratio to start up. The gear ratio I had was fine for the Actronic, but for some reason the Actronic was limiting the top speed of the motor to around 18,000rpm.

With the Schulze, the top speed of the motor is now above 22,000, and when I changed the gearing to accomodate this (went from 9.6:1 to 11:1, a 23-tooth pinion to a 20-tooth) the Schulze now starts up fine, no pre-spin required.

Nobody has really been able to explain this, but as long as it's working, who am I to argue???

hi chuck. unfortunately, the 40.70 is no longer being made. schulze now has the 40.160, which is quite a beast.
