rickc,

Do you have the part number for the aluminum tail boom mounts?

What other upgrade are worth the money or need for the Voyager 50 IMZ?

Thanks

I got mine through the LHS via Horizon, I'm sure that Cyberheli can fix you up.

Here are a few items I know a couple of us went with. With ball bearings everywhere possible the tail pitch lever was the only disappointment in the kit. That's why the KSJ689 is a nice compliment. 600 V-Blades and 85mm NHP's for the tail completed my kit. The other options are listed below. They came from Stephen at Cybeheli.

Rick

60843 - Carbon bottom plate (it's not critical but makes for an ultra-stiff
frame set-up)
60778 - HG Tail holder (Aluminum part....the boom will never slip)

engine comparisons

I wish someone owned a small dyno device for testing our helicopter engines. I agree that manufacturer ratings are useless. It seems that someone (magazine, website) should do a engine-by-engine comparison of torque curves, hp curves, fuel consump, responses, etc. for real analysis.

I think it's also important to consider the value of smoothness, response, and needle setting (consistency and holding). These are attributes no mfg measures and can only really be understood through using a motor, or talking to someone you trust to inform you correctly.

The IMZ engine looks great. Everything I know about 2cycle (helis and motorcycles) tells me that this is the setup (w/muffler) for strong flat torque curves. But then, I have only been running one head speed lately, so that wouldn't be of great value to me at the moment (I'll probably go to multi-RPM flying again after I get out of this phase!!!) I fly an OS50 on a pipe now, and it's too much (and the torque is, or course, peaky) for my 600mm blades.... So, when I get an airframe that will take 620+ maybe I could rationalize the IMZ engine.

Hover on,
Dennis
