Anyone running the new JR IMZ50? I've asked this before, and judging by the lack of responses, the price must be keeping people away from the JR. $479 , you could buy two OS50's.

We got a couple in our field. They've been flying for more than 8 months now and it still amazes me how smooth the engine runs.

Thanks Dave. Any comparison to an OS50 's power? I like the way the OS runs, I just want to try something different.

Powerwise, both are monsters, it's just that the IMZ runs with a constant whining sound while the OS50 sounds like the OS61.

I have one, I have only two tanks through it but it's amazing how smooth and responsive the engine it, even with a rich mixture. I can tell the power will be incredible once the engine is broken in and can be leaned.
I have never seen an R/C engine like it. With factory needle settings I started the engine and it idled perfectly. I walked it out to the flight line and spooled the engine up. I hovered about 2 to 3 minutes and landed to take a temp reading, 99 degrees was all it was at. On the second tank I switched to idle up for a minute and tried giving a few bursts of full throttle/full collective to see how the throttle response was. The heli launched 20 feet in the air like it was shot out of a cannon. After a few of those I landed and again checked the temp, 125 degrees. I'm going to have to lean the engine to create more heat to properly break in the engine. With the performance I was getting out of the IMZ running so rich the temp never crept above 125 it will be hard to believe what it will be like when it's brought up to temp by leaning. The power and throttle response feels like a YS but much smoother. I give the IMZ 50RV a huge thumbs up so far.
