I noticed today while I was practicing hovering that I had to use more than half stick most of the time to get airborn. I've got my pitch curves at 0, 5 and 9 and my throttle at 0, 25, 50,75 and 100. Is there something I'm not doing right?

Also, a small piece of the plastic shrink coating on my stock Raptor woodies has chipped away, near the end of one blade. How should I go about repairing it? Also I never hit anything with it.. I noticed it after my flight today...

Thanks!

RaptorHelius!!

1 gallon of fuel used as of today!!

Not too sure about the curves but you should be able to fix the covering with CA.

You need to find an experienced pilot to help you get your set up correct. If you can find one and let him help you get your curves (had speed and hover stick position) set up correctly it will help you a lot. You will learn a lot about what the heli needs to be happy. Once it is happy (head speed near 1700) you will be able to not worry about what it's doing and learn how to control it in hover.

RaptorH,
Ya outta add at least 1-2 degrees neg there on the bottom. If you get caught in a wind gust the heli will ballon big time and you could loose control, a lil neg will help you to safely land under control in winds. Plus if the eng quits you wont have any chance whatso ever to auto at 0 neg, 2 degrees neg. will work tho with enough altitude.

it depends on ur setup

for example if ur rappy is set up for 3D (which is suitable for begginers if u adjust the curves for a very slow movment) then ur pitch should be negetive in low stick and 0 in middle stick which means that ur heli will start taking off just at about 3/4 stick.
so whatever suits u...

3D setup

I'm a beginner but I have my Raptor setup for 3D and I use my radio to do the beginner curves. I just followed what I read at Raptor Technique about using 0, 5 and 9 for beginner setup.

I tried -30% expo yesterday and it seemed a little easier to control too.

bought my second gallon of fuel today! but it seems too windy to fly right now...
