Straight back and down or at an angle?

Just wondering.. right now I have it straight back and pointed downwards... any benefit to either direction? What about longer deflectors? I've heard that someone used a small diameter radiator hose that was 6 or so inches long? What would that do? Could I run a tube all the way to the back of the tail?? Any way to keep the heli cleaner?

Thanks!
