I just got a ys80 last week, i wonder if there is a way to tell difference of old or new barrel. My throttle arm is 1/4 inch away from barrel.... which would lead towards old, unless they updated it??? Errrrr. About to install and will be using governer...thanks for info (i checked ys website...nothing there-not even the engine...lol)...thx

Machined-in standoff = old barrel

Standoff required= new/STII barrel

I believe you have the original 80 barrel. Call for a swap if your motor burps, which it likely will with your use of the GV-1.

the old ys 80 barrel has a long throttle arm extention that is part of he carb barrel.
The new barrels(61st2 type) the throttle arm is not extended and is flush to the side of the carb.

if the only stand off you see is part of the plastic arm you have the 61st2 carb which is what you want.

Im not sure, but It looks like you have the new style. My ys80 has a 1/2" standoff that is actually part of the barrel. Then It had a plastic end attached to that. I just bought mine from cyberheli two weeks ago. I am sending my barrel in to ys perf today. Yours looks different than mine.

sounds like i got an updated one.....pretty fast... thumbs up for ys, but they should have had it right the first time... thumbs down.

wow, great looking field, and it's nice of u guys to provide crystals! I'll prob be down! I usually fly in milford, I started an ama sanctioned heliclub last year.....rotorsports....just starting...small..about 10 members. Your funfly sounds good, I think I've seen it advertised at RC Buyers in Nashua in the past. If u don't have an ad up yet, drop one off or u may be able to fax it....don't know the number, but the phone is 603-595-2494.

Thanks for info, btw, going flying in milford in couple hours....don't know how far of a drive but......or maybe another day.
