I am restoring to flight condition my father's EP Concept. He let me 'borrow' it last year when I got started in RC Heli's and I crashed it pretty quick. It was certainly a twitchy little thing as I remember. Still, I've come a ways since trying it out. I am now doing limited circuts and big ol' figure eights with my Raptors, so I am thinking I can handle it.

Anybody got any experience with this old bird? Am I limited to going through Tower for parts? Is there a great website for either electric-heli's or the Concept EP? Is the decision to swap out the old mechanical gyro (G155 Futaba) for a GY-240 a no-brainer? The directions for the Concept EP say for Expert flyers. Should I just keep it on the shelf for another year?

Thanks in advance...

yep, i had one, and just sold it over the winter, actually it flys very nice and smooth, but before you start, remove the blade grip shafts from the head and glue or JB weld them to the head. they are held on by one allen bolt and will move very easily in flight, which will give a big headache in blade tracking, every flight you will be redoing the tracking, JB will eliminate that. the old ep will do real well in flight, check out eflightpacks.com for batteries, don't think you will find a better source, get the 8 cell 1700scr packs, gave me 5-6 minutes of flight, I would also recomend tossing the motor and replace with the kyosho krypton crystal, night and day performance difference and its only about $20 through tower. any other Question send email, I may still have some emailable tips and tricks for the old ep, i will check sometime this week, but do the head. it will fly on 7 cells but on the 8 cell scr it will screem, pyro great, and loop and roll with ease. I would have kept mine but the wife made me sell one of my toys
