This battle has been fought before with good arguments about both. However, the idea that NiCd is past its time and Nimh is the only way to go is a bit careless.

Yes. That is what I am telling you. They all fail if they are treated badly. I don't care what type you are using. I no longer cycle mine. Big waste of time and puts extra burden on the batteries.

I surely hope you don't really think that and you take real good care of your Nimh. They are not as forgiving as NiCd. They will also not give you any warning when they are about to fail, unlike NiCd.

Cycling does little but waste a cycle. Energizer has data on their web site that shows that memory can only be demonstrated if you discharge to *exactly* the same point each time. And by exactly, I mean pretty much exactly. As as soon as you discharge to 2% from that point the memory is gone. When people hurt their cells with poor charging and start to see a voltage dip they say "I must have memory."
