I am using 8UH super I assigned my gyro switch to E Normal - I set for 90% Idle up 1 = 80% Idle up 2 = 20%..

When on Normal and Idle up 1 switch are on.. The LED on Gyro stays on. That means it's on AVCS mode or Heading Hold mode.

If the light is off on the Gyro that means you are on Normal Rate mode..

Check to make sure LED light is on when you are in HH Mode.

Good Luck.

Is this a new gyro set-up, or have you flown it before already? The gyro doesn't lock. Are you saying the tail drifts slowly or does the heli try to spin rapidly upon getting the skids light?

sounds like you have to reverse your tail servo.. see if that works.

Does the 401 have a reverse switch? Sounds like it is running reversed.

401

Check to see that when you rotate the heli nose left that the t/r pushrod pulls or moves forward. If not , reverse the servo or the gyro.

Along with making sure that the gyro is not reversed, make sure that when you are looking at the right side of the heli and spinning the main blades clockwise, the tail blades go counterclockwise. If they are going cw your tail belt is reversed.

New update on 401 drifting.

Just got back from flying this afternoon.. I also experiencing the drifting.. now that's not because of the servo reverse or anything.. I found out . When your flight pack battery running low. Gyro will tends to drift. it doesn't have much holding power anymore. I have 2 pack of batteries in my heli so when i plug in the fresh pack.. the drifting stops.. Digital servo do drained quite a great deal out of your battery.. so keep an eye out for the battery voltage.

Check and see that the tail blade grips are installed correctly. I have seen this cause the same problem.
