| That's correct. On the Raptor 30 there is a one way bearing on the start shaft to the engine. It will only catch and crank the engine one way, in the other direction it will slip. Then once it starts, and you speed up, the clutch engages and the pinion gear drives directly to the main gear, reversing the direction of rotation. Engine starts counter clock wise, main blades turn clock wise.
Tail rotor blades turn counter clock wise, when viewed from the right side of the helicopter.  |
