| There is an option I have used on my heli that can extend the life of the frame.
It's called 6 minute epoxy. I simply repaired the broken screw support with epoxy, let it dry, then reattach the boom supports.
This should be fine for beginner and intermediate pilots.
Another problem I have run into is the frame tends to crack above the front strut. For this, I drill two small holes on each side of the crack, and use zip ties to hold it together, as well as a dose of epoxy.
A preventive measure here is to use a frame brace.
As for these fixes, use your better judgment. I would hate to not spend 23 dollars on a new frame only to have it cause another crash. |
