I have heard about some electronic gadget that monitors radio frequency.
A few guys at our club claim that they get interference once in a while.
I dont seem to have that problem, but I use good equipment and just had my transmitter tuned.
where could I find one of these scanners and how much are they?

Thanks,
Dennis

frequency scanner

I was browsing through the ebay electronics and found ALINCO scanner that sell for $200.00. This scanner will scan all frequencies including the RC channels. There are Alinco dealers here in the US but this particular model is only available in England.
Checkout ebay for this item.

I was at radio shack and asked them about one.
they had one that was on clearance for around $35 it was originally $150-200. it is # 22-306. works from 1mhz to1300mhz.
but it only reads from a foot or less away from a transmitter!
is there something wrong with it? I was thinking it should pick up anything within a mile or two.or am I dreaming?
Thanks ,

RADIO SHACK

That's why it's only $35 !!!!, you get what you pay for.
Contact ALINCO on the internet or at ebay........the cost is over $200
and will read any frequency on the air.
Good Luck!

the ICOM R2 is only about $130-150 and will do everything
you want and is super sweet and small.

No reason to spend more IMO

Just have a look to this compagny LLM http://www.e-businessvillage.com/llm/ , under the chapter "Securite", you will find a product called Model-Scan. We are using both 41 and 72 MHz models at our club with great success.
The use of scanner is forbidden in France and this product is a very good alternative with a nice graphical display.
It allows also to check if your transmitter is well calibrated.
I know they are now selling some specific models for the US radio band.

You can find in the rubric "Notice" an english version of the user manual.

Regards,

Eric
