If you can find a way to mount this bad boy into a Z230 I'll take it! This would provide the grunt the Z230 so desperately needs!

Thanks Stephen. The key to the engine is in the cylinder, the proting is totally different.Bergen is modifying it to fit to g23puh cases,I'm trying to replace a TAS24cc w it ,which is very close in designto the rc230 but "inverted somewhat in design,I surely dont need the 6hp but w Bergen I believe its supposed to be a replacement for the twin,maybe..
If I get 3 or 4 out of it I'll be happy.

new gasser engine

Ok gasser power junkies: Talked to the Bergen folks a few days ago
and it looks like in the next few months, a new heli version of the rc230 zenoah should be out.
All Chris would say: it's in testing, He's flown with one and Look out!!! this things got power !!! 700mm blades are too small.

Mitch,
The engine is one gear ripping snufskeeter.....All of those spec's were done by Alro Racing in England with a car tune pipe...With a reg. muffer you will net a little over 1HP over the old G2D and the puh...Thats ok though, Zenoah finally built the ports where you will really notice the tork difference....and that is what counts at the rpms we run..
I can't wait to see your mod...Do try to come to Laurel's this year...
Regards,
Bill

I'm just now getting into gas helis myself. I was wondering what the problem, if any, would be if you had mod a heli to accommodate the airplane twin gas engine available by manufacture like Fuji Engines, and Mac Minarelli. Some of those produce up to 10hp. I'm working on a project that I maybe doing this to, so any suggestion is appreciated.

Thanks

I have been looking for a way to get more power into my Xcell gasser.
Just remember; The vehicle with enough power has never yet been built.
If you have ever hit full throttle then you could have used more.

If you guys want more power from your Zenoah I could do some porting for you, I have been porting Zenoahs for gas boats for almost ten years now !!,,, or, you could just run them on glow fuel !! E me ..

Gentlemen,
I just received my G230rc for my Vario benzin, I was curious what brand of oil is everyone is using and what ratio do you prefer.

Thanks in advance for your comments,
Pip

Ill try to make laurels this year bill, been playing catch up with work, putting fires out for the past 2 months at the last minute w no warning.I will do my best though.
Bruce claims that you can also alter the ignition timing as well as getting it "worked out" for more "ponys",but hey whats better than 1 more pony?should be interesting to see, thats over the horizon for me though engine stuffing first.
I wont debate oil cause were all a little different, and have been thru this before, but I use Morgan CP 14, @32:1 sometimes more, sometimes less.Thats my preference cause it works for what I do.
gotta run !

I heard about the "key step"/"boat" mod,I wish we could run the engines that fast
Bruce had mentioned the ignition could be changed electronically .He didnt go into detail, but he had mentioned that it works over a different range of engine rpms to get the most power you want at diff headspeeds.
A friend of mine had saw Chris Bergens machine at a FF yesterday, and said Chris was just "tearing it up" ,and the machine had a significant amount of extra power compared to what were used to.
Cant wait to get this thing going,The engine will fit in the Eagle GS,It just needs some "inversion",if not just a cylinder change.(how lovely that would be if it'll work that easy!).....

...Now come on Mitch, you got to have a good oil debate every now and then heehee

Pip,
Since I'm a Rep for Vario, Vario recommends 40:1 with their synthetic....

I personally use AMSoil, and recommend 2 ounces to a gallon with a new engine...Most folks run this mixture all the time with very good results...

All the little tricks with these engines are known, its just that most don't use them because there not needed most of the time with our application...Mainly in scale...There are a few dyhards wanting to 3D, and I've seen some good ones...I 3D one myslf..But I don't need all those little tricks to do it....

I can't believe Alexsander that you have guys that are not noticing the difference in power with the new R/C230...I'm surprized....You guys must do things different in Canada

How is the new 230 configured with the Bergen, anybody?
Regards,
Bill.
