Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > Futaba 9C defectiveness

I posted this to the general discussion board but got no bites... maybe someone will notice it more here, I hope

About 4 out of 5 times I turn on my 9C, it boots up fine, then it says the battery is at 6.5v and the low battery alarm comes on. The other 1 out of 5 times, it will boot up fine, report the correct battery voltage, and then after a few minutes, start freaking out again.

What's weird about this?

The battery is fully charged. I even went ahead and connected my DVM to the battery leads while they were plugged into the transmitter and watched the voltage on my dvm and on my 9c.. 9C says 6.5v, my dvm says 10.1v. I also tried this with another battery, same results. So basically, whatever circuitry in the 9C that reports the battery voltage is not functioning properly. Has anyone else here had this problem? And also, what should I do now? Send it in to Futaba for repair I guess....

Also, the LCD becomes very dim when it thinks the battery is dead, so I assume this isn't just a battery voltage monitoring problem, but some sort of internal power supply issue.

9C battery voltage alarm

The voltage meter {display} is adjustable but you have to get into the service menus to do it. There is a service menu enabler available called the UltraPac. You need an adjustable power supply among other things to set the display accurately. Sounds like a trip to Futaba is in order, It could be something else entirely.
