e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > Question concerning lithiums...

As I understand it, it is imperative that the individual cells in a lithium battery pack must be kept at the same voltage relative to the other cells within the pack. If I were to purchase an assembled battery pack, how am I to know whether or not the cells are at the same relative voltage to one another? Is there something I'm missing here, or something I misunderstood? Thank you!

I don't know if they have to be exactly the same voltage, or if there can be a little difference.

But if its done in a factory, it will be balanced, because otherwise there will be dangerous situations, and ofcourse you don't want to have that.

Just wait for some experts to have their say in this.

The packs out of the manufacturer are matched cells and should not pose any problems. I have two Thunder Power packs and have had no problems with the packs. There are a few things to know about them though. Like dont leave them plugged into the speed controller even if it is all turned off. Especially with the Hacker ESPs. Li-poly packs cant be discharged down too far or they will be ruined. With the Hacker ESPs even though its turned off it still draws current and will ruin a pack within a few hours.
Basically study what you are going to use them for and get the best pack for the job. Take good care of it and it will serve you long and well. Just my 2 cents.
