Nicco,
I fly with some of electric guys here in SD and the guys who are on the cutting edge of Li front have some pretty good stories about the times when packs went critical. They all suggest that the outside and a good distance from any thing flamable or otherwise us the best place. As for not watching them so do some do don't but all use the kiln bricks to set the packs on.

triton with temp probe

Is using the triton with the temp probe a pretty good failsafe. Do the packs ever explode before they get hot.

Make it idiot-proof, and someone will make a better idiot

I charge mine inside a corningware casserole dish with lid. I dont know if it will contain a fire or not, but it will sure help me carry a flaming li-poly pack outside onto the front lawn, hopefully before my apartment burns down, because I really want my security deposit back when I move out.
