Anyone use the BR-2000 ?

It drains the batteries down to what voltage ?
Does it drain to different voltage considering 4.8/6.0/7.2 volts packs ?

Thanks

Frank

What do you guys use to discharge your TX pack (8 cells) ?

Here is a review of the BR-2000.

Well I now got this Triton recycler. I'll see how it goes.

it should drain to a constant per cell
voltage which will of course result
in a different value for packs of varying
cell count.

I got one of those Futaba Br-2000 Discharger/Cycler last week, but I haven't used it to discharge batteries yet so I don't know what voltage it discharges down to? I just use it as a battery checker. I use my regular charger to discharge my batteries. BTW, I back ordered mine from Rick's a month ago. I guess they have them in stock now.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

BR-2000 will discharge to 0.9v per cell.

There is a slider switch to select between 4.8, 6.0 & 7.2v.

You can also select the discharge current from approx 1A to 3A.

I really like the way it changes colour between Batt Check mode (red) and Batt Discharge mode (blue).

Will this check the battery under a load like the voltmaster 3?

I have not tested actual current draw while in batt check mode, but I will one day.

I have noticed that when you press the 'start' button, the voltage will change for a finite time before displaying the (steady) battey voltage, from this I can only presume that there is a load applied during batt voltage checking mode.

Yes, it tests the batteries under a load. The load is set by the discharge rate dial. In essence, the "test" is a short discharge cycle. So you can test your batteries with a 1-3amp load. Not much use IMO for anything higher than a 1 amp load, but it is what it is. I like mine and got it from Rick's a couple months ago.
