Radio - Servo - Gyro - Gov - Batt > telebee gyro vs jr410t

i have a shuttle with a telebee gyro in it and a jr 517 servo. i can't stop the heli from shifting left to right in hh mode however in rate mode it seems to work fine. heliproz said to take it out and smash it that if it didn't fail it is only a matter of time. so i ordered a jr410t and a hitec 525 servo . how i find on this website that someone else has the same problem with the jr410t and the hitec525. by the way i have adjusted the gain for heading hold throughout its range and tested in a hover the only thing that happens is the hunting seems to speed up or slow down. my question is did i just waste my money or am i doing something wrong? i have a 8103 and the gain is setup in my aux2 channel. please tell me that i haven't wasted money and will have the same problem.

I need to know which of the Telebee you refer to, 701 is for fast speed servo 703 is for something like 507,517 jr.

Im having the same problem. Except im using the telebee 701 with the 9CHP Futaba transmitter. Im getting hunting in all % of gyro gain. Assigned to channel 5 on my reciever. I am adjusting the gyro mix amount in the 9chp. Im using the hitech hs525 high speed servo for the tail. Any answers would be appreciated. Mine is a used telebee and it's on a raptor 30. I am wondering if the gyro tape is to soft. Would that cause hunting?

Tail mechanicsm

make sure your tail link, tail guide, .. move freely, easy,no play, no binding. What is your tail lenght? Servo arm lenght? Try to adjust servo arm longer but also change the ATV.

Hitec 525 is not fast enough to get the best performance out of 701 telebee try 8417jr

Thanks Champion, that helps alot. Now the only thing it does is: When I punch full throttle from a hover in HH mode, the tail swings about 3 inches then comes back into position in about 1-2 seconds. Is there any way to get rid of this tail movement at high torque. Or am I on the edge of my telebee abilities. Thanks!

I think that could be your thottle curve inconsistence, raise your head speed to 1850 or 2000 then try again

Try to use a faster servo on your thottle than the servo on the cyclic. That should that care of it, thottle atv 80% .

OK, I will put the hitech 525 on the throttle .16 sec. And I will set the ATV to 80%. What does that do for you? Does it keep the throttle ahead of the pitch, so you do not bog down the engine?

Also let me ask another question while we are on the subject of ATV
I have the following on my ATV's:
Aile 45/50
Ele 75/70
Thr 80/80
Rud 100/100
Gyr 70/60
Pit 71/100

Do I need to move to different positions on the servo wheel. Do I need to get all of them as close to 100/100 as I can? Does that affect the speed and or torque of the servo? This is one of the details I have always wondered about. Thanks for your reply.

Hey Champion, sorry to keep bugging you about this, but I want to learn how to get this setup right, then I wont have to bother anybody anymore. Any way's here is what is happening now. I am getting my atv's as close to 100/100 as possible. But I am seeing that the % on either side of aileron and elevator are not the same amounts. I have my trims at 0, my sub trims at 0, The pitch is at 0, the swash is level with the heli (rap 30 in case you forgot), and my linkages are the same length. Everything is 90 deg. Here is what my atv's are comming out at to get 6 deg deflection both directons.

Aile 110/72
Ele 64/107

Is there something in the linkages above the swash that would cause this difference? Thanks for seeing me through this one!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey G
I'm new to helis
and No were near Proficient with computorized radios
Mostly Planks is my experience.
But For some reason I'm actually seein somethin in my mind.
what are the chances you might need to move the Rod that goes from the servo arm to the left right cyclid,
Maybe its the angle of attack.
When you servo arm is at 90 degrees and everything is in its neutral position , is the rod at 90 degrees to the servo arm?
