Its Here!!!!!

Made payment Tuesday afternoon, parcel arrived Thursday morning on special next day am delivery,

I was informed by email when despatched and when to expect delivery along with safety & charging info.

It looks really good:
Connectors are pre fitted and it has spares for the esc side.
It has a hard plastic reinforcing case around the sides and bottom end underneath real heavy duty heat shrink making it look very neat and professional, I wonder if I mount it with the wires coming out the back it might be better protected by the reinforcing case in a crash?

I also got the Schultz isl6-330 charger with version 8 software, looks very smart, the instructions are going to take a while to read!.

Now then - how do I convince my wife that it would not be a good idea to wrap these up for Xmas and I should start using them right away?
....Of course without frightening her with stories of them blowing up!
I don’t want her banning my heli from the house......any advice??????

P.s. I’m going to charge it outside or in my workshop, I read a post about making/buying a metal charging box - did anyone do it?, is it likely to make them hot?

Regards David

Flightpower LIPO's

I can also confirm the superb service from Flightpower I ordered 2 off 5s4p 8000ma packs for my Maxi Joker on Tuesday.
They arrived 7am Thursday, they are very well assembled and look the part.

Just waiting on the wet and windy weather clearing to carry out flight tests.

drapper, don't be afreaid to charge them, there are some horror stories about charching lipols but mostly this happens only and only when you !!drastically!! overcharge them and handle them inproperly. With good lipol chargers this can't happen and even if you slightly overcharge them the only thing which happens is they may get hot, they loose lifetime and loose capacity.
Same care is always needed but with modern high class chargers you plug temp sensor on them as well as limit maximum capacity or voltage.
Lipols safety protection, technology and parameters are better and better and latest cells will not blow up or burn becuase they contain internal fuse (simular to lions) which prevents that from happening. It is also issue for manufacturers as they would like to produce safer batteries instead of risking dirty legal process with dummy customer :-)
Problem I see now with lipols and e-helis is lifetime vs. price. Actual discharge rates needed for bigger e-helis like ECO8 are at the edge of what lipols technology can provide. Therefore they have very limited lifetime which all in all with price makes them little bit more luxus for serious everyday use
