Hi

I would like to assign a channel on the 3810 to a knob which I can use as a tilt adjuster for a still cam.

Its a one man operated unit and having this would be real handy.

I fear of running out of channels, so much so, I might have to go to a CSM 200 HH gyro (Which is HH only and doesnt use up a switch).

Has anyone done this.

If not, can you give me some suggestions on how please.

To my knowledge, a knob cannot be assigned to a channel on the 8103 (the US Version that I have). I wanted to use a switch for a channel for a shutter release and the only way I figured out to do it was to use the Hi Idle switch and aux two. To do this, I had to have the pitch and throttle curves exactly the same so when I switched to Hi Idle 2, the flight perameters would not change, but the shutter release would work.

That's one of the things I don't like about the JR8103, you have all those channels, and don't really have any options as to how you can use them.

no problem.

you can assign aux2 to the pitch trim knob in front.

You cannot re-assign the other 2 knobs though.

go into the master setup (hold UP/DOWN while powering up)
and find the aux2 function

From page 72 of the XP8103 Manual:

AUX 2 (Channel #7) Input Selection

Press the UP and DOWN keys simultaneously and turn the power switch ON to access the system Set-Up Mode.

Using the UP and DOWN keys,select Input Selection Function and press the UP and DOWN keys simultaneously to access.

Choices for Aux 2 are:
1) INH...............Inhibit
2) Hold SW......Hold Switch
3) Pit. Trim.......Pitch Trim Knob

I just looked at my 8103 and tried that set up, but notice I am using aux2 for my gyro D/R. Is there some way to move that over to aux3 so I could use aux2 for the camera tilt function or to snap a picture?

I dont think there is. I was never able to get aux3
to NOT track teh flight mode.

so, you should be able to create a PMIX to Aux3 and
just tweak the min/mid/max numbers which will
correlate to gain.
