Bloodly Pomms, they won "Bill", the world rugby cup. What a game tho!, went into extra time, 100 mins of pure tension!
The game was a cracker!
Hate to say it, but congrates to all the england players, they were the best team.

Have to have a dig tho for some Aussie pride

Its only been nearly 50 years since the last time england were world beaters!

Now i run away with my head down low!! hahahaha

One thing for sure, at least they are true World Champs, other country's play Rugby, not like the Yanky NFL!

For me, it certainly wasn't Johnny Wilkson that made the difference, great player but It was your forward pack, with so many steals off the Aussie lineout.
I thought the ref was excellent, with no bias, and allowed the game to flow.

"Rugby is boring" sounds a bit odd coming from a bannana bender to me in Vic who gets notherners poxy rugby league crap on Optarse all the damn year like we give a shiite down here in Vic being Aussie rules land.

Anyhow, It isnt just any rugby game plonkers its a World Cup, once every 4 fukn years cobber.
Its not the game, its the competition between nations.

In Aus we have Aus rules football and rugby is nothing here except 2 states, one being Patricks state of Qld, where I live in Vic we dont have rugby and dont want it.
In the UK they have soccer / being fooootball, rugby is nowhere.
NZ have rugby as main stream so they love it, they are welcome to it.
Likewise If the USA had a World Cup rugby team it doesnt follow that anyone in USA likes Rugby but when you are playing the rest of the world it counts to win.

Tonight England did and took them 50 years to do it so show some respect grunts.

That was created by Paul Hogan cause the yanks dont know what a prawn is.
He cant say put another steak on the barbeque to the yanks because their steak is corn fed, more like lumpy gristle.

Doesnt have the same meaning is throw a steak on the barbie in Aus where we have the worlds finest grain fed beef
The yanks dont know that and only have their own steak which is nothing to rave about like our Aus steaks.

So Paul Hogan changed it to throw a shrimp on the barbeque for his tourism adverts back in the 80's

Paul Hogans reasoning was to the Quantas execs and Tourism minister was that we are better of advertising to the Japs and Yanks by acting not like we are in realirty but acting like the Yanks and Japs think we act.
At the time he stated 'leave it to me to act the part" you just be ready with the welcome mat whan they start rolling of the plane at Sydney.

Bugger the lot us he was right, the Yankls and Japs loved all the crocodile fantasy stuff and came here in the droves and helped out ecomony along real good.

But that was then and this is now and now we have Steve Irwin, bless his cotton socks and his crocs.

I know its a joke Jim, I was pointing to "shrimp on the barbie" is actually a joke in its own right from an Aus point of view.
Cooking shrimp here would be as popular as cooking house flies.

Yeah Irwins half cut no doubt but he's not alone, there are plenty who talk like him in Aus, not in the cities where they suffer cultural cringe

Same as you might claim hillbillies are few and far between in the US but I turn on Fox news and there's old Jed and Granny.

Work on a cattle or sheep station in central Aus or a mine up nth SA or WA youll find of plenty of Irwin style talk, less the pauses Irwin puts in between words for the US audience cause they cant understand a word we are saying mostly.

I had some US marines around for a drinking session one time when I lived in west australia and about half an hour into it one of them says to me, "I have to confess, I cant actually understand a word youve said in the last hour, but I like your accent"

To which I said with a wink as I handed him another stubbie (small beer bottle).

Real Mines Huh

Olympic Dam is the largest known deposit of Uranium in the world. (Not that we are a uranium mine) It's a by product of copper which we are the 5 largest deposit in the world.

We surpased Mt Isa recently as the largest undergraound mine in the country. More than 200Kms of underground tunnels.
We are also looking at going open cut in the next couple of years. If this happens it will be the largest man made hole in the planet. 12Kms long by 7Kms wide. This will make the super pit look like a childs sand pit
