Daggit, I've been following this camera for a while now, with great interest. Some feedback from people that have used the pre-production units has been poor, noisey picture, etc. I'm hoping Sony corrects these problems before the production units come out (and Sony has pushed the release date back), but I'm definitely waiting to see.

It should be pretty nice.

I currently use the F707 and a 5 MP image is very nice to work with, especially when printing large photos.

It would be interesting to see the 8MP image.

Can you say "Tax Return"?

Oh, wait! I have that spoken-for already. I'm into R/C helis............Tax returns are spoken-for through the year 2050.

It will be a little heavy for smaller aerial platforms, though......

Will there be any events in your neck of the woods this summer?

I live in Eau Claire, WI and the pics from last year look pretty cool.

I think it would be worth a drive over that way.

By the way, what camera are you using now?

Gol Durn right there will be an event this summer! The Owatonna Rotary Ring-out will be held in August again. 101 people registered to fly in 2003. In the aerial picture of this years' event there were 135 helis JUST IN THE PICTURE (see gallery). Full size heli's were there giving rides, they sold so many rides they said they'd be back in 2004. It was a blast. Tons of stuff to do for anybody you drag along who isn't into heli's. Mall of America and Valley Fair only 50 miles away. Motel with a water park only 8 miles from the field. I could go on....

Currently I use a Sony DSC-S85 4mp camera. Four mp is enough to give GREAT 8x10's. I also have a 35mm Nikon N55 that takes great pictures but the digital is just too easy to use.

8mp should get me into poster size range
