e-Mikado Logo 400 500 600 > Bad things about Logo 10?

Hey,

I am thinking of buying a logo 10 (well, I know for sure I will buy it).
But I haven't rode any bad things about it. Are there any bad things on a 10 that should be known?

Greetings Laurens

Nice heli but be prepaired to open up the wallet wide for replacement parts.

Although I think costs will be a problem for me, I don't really care about crash costs. The ratio flighttime-crash will be high enough to gather enough cash to buy replacement parts.

I have mine for about 4 weeks now and have about 25 flights on it. So far I have no complaints at all. Of course you have to find your prefered motor/esc combination to be happy with the performance. I have to say though that I have most of the upgrades and this might make a difference. I love it and would buy another one if I lost mine.

Logo 10's fly awesome right out of the box. Parts can cost a bit more, but not much. Just make sure you get the right motor and ESC for the type of flying you do. You can also upgrade these all the way if you have enough money to burn. I know I've spent enough on mine so far.

Try getting a hold of some old MHW magazines, May, June and July 2003. They have write -ups about the Logo 10 and tuning them up to fly better. They only have good things to say about the Logo 10.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

The only problem I've got is that I still don't know which motor to buy.
The rest is easy to choose .

Go to this link and you can look at all the motors for the Logo 10. http://www.fxaeromodels.com/Motors/escs.htm They have all the high and low end motors and ESC's. They have hot motors as well as mild motors, it just depends on what type of flying you plan to do? Motors and ESC's are usually in stock, if not they are updated every week, so check back often. You can also e-mail them and ask when a certain motor or ESC will be back in stock.

Cheers, Patrick

The motor should be able to learn hoover, but if I want 3d later, it should be able to do that too. So just one engine that may not be replaced.

Then I would go with either of these two motors. The first is Hacker C50-13L or Kontronik Fun 600-18. You can just change the pinion to get the required head speed for 3D when your ready. They are both good all around motors and their battery life is good as well. Just start with a 13 tooth pinion and a 10 or 12 cell battery. The C50-13L with a 13 pinion gear and 12 cells will get your head speed around 1,584 RPM which is good for hovering. Then as you get better just change pinion to a 15 or 16 and it will get your head speed up to 1,800-1,900+ RPM for 3D.

Cheers, Patrick

Will a c40 be good enough?
A 50 isn't for sale here, at least not on lipoly .

motor

I don't think the c40 is enough motor. I have the kontronic fun 600-18
and i have seen the 50 13L hackers fly the the L10 well. I would stay with one of those two.

Hi Laurens,
do you know RC-City.de in Germany. They can help you and they have very reasonable price. I am not a 3D flyer but I do aerobatics and I love the Bittner 30-12, 40-13 and the Kontronik 600-17.

I thought I knew what motor to put in a Logo 10 until I started to read about the high voltage LiPo setups people are experimenting with.

With an HV setup, current is down considerably and power under load is significantly improved.

...or you could get a C50-13L as a good compromise for NiCd/NiMH/LiPo.

Technology marches on!
