Brand new Gyro. I've had nothing but success with previous 401's. When I power up the Tx and Gyro, it gives me the quick flash and then goes to solid light.

Switching Switch F between what would normally be AVCS and Normal mode changes nothing.


When I power up the ELECTRIC heli, the tail wags severely back and forth 2 to 3 feet but since this was first try, obviously the t/r isn't set for neutral yet.
Gyro gain set at 50% up and down on Switch F.
Gyro ATV set at 100% both sides.

Any ideas?

When the light on the gyro on that means you are on AVCS mode if you are using switch F which is the invert swith then depends on which way (up/down) you want the gyro on normal mode or AVCS mode..

Dial the percentage of the gyro down until the light on gyro went off that means you are on Normal mode..

When the light on the gyro go solid that mean its on AVCS mode dial it down until the light goes off.. then turn the gyro gain up again until the light comes on solid.. from there on. As you started to lift off just add more gain as need to keep the tail to hold the way you wanted..

Could the direction be reversed. When I first installed mine it was reversed and when I powered up the tail spun around. I almost crapped. I reversed the direction and everything was fine.

It Works Now!

No telling why, but I tried it again and it's working fine.

Thanks to those who posted fixes.
Hope I don't have an intermittent gyro. We'll soon see.

You're quite welcome.. glad hear it works.. i have the same setup on my x-cell.. my gyro switch are configured to switch E.. Normal, idle up1 idle up 2. that will give you settings for Normal hold on idle up2 and AVCS on the other 2 flight modes. Have fun.
