Main Discussion > I need a charger but dunno what to get

I have a radio and csm simulator. The radio is a JR Galaxy 8 pcm, but doesnt have the charger to it. It has a sanyo 700mah trx pack in it. I don't know if like a 12 volt household power adapter would work so I won't try it unless someone says it will. If it won't work, can anybody suggest a good charger that will work for trx and rx packs. My battery pack is straight wired to the transmitter, so I would either need an adapter to plug into it or install a connector. From what I understand the JR radios use reverse polarity, so it seems like I may be better off just installing connectors, and doing the same with any rx packs i use, as well as the charger I will have to get. Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I like my hitec cg 335. They are like 85 dollars. It is idiot proof. It takes a real idiot to brake it while charging. It won't charge or turn on if the polarity is reversed. It has an lcd display and charges .5-5 amps. It also has peak detection which is nessasary.

There is also a supernova charger that is like 100 dollars. It has a lot of stuff. The astro flight and the sirius are als ogood chargers as well. Good ones are a bit pricey.

You might also want to get an acucyle as well to cycle your batteries. I do.

Sirius Charge Pro

I have been using the Sirius Charge Pro for about 3 years now. It works great. I like the fact that it is specifically made for charging RX and TX batteries. It can charge them one at a time or both at the same time.

It is also super simple to use. Just plug it in. Thats it. It does not even have an on/off switch. I swear by mine. Here is a link to their site. -Steve

OK thanks for the suggestions fellas. BTW what connectors do ppl use on their tx and rx batts? I have cars, and on all my batts I run deans connectors. I never had to mess with tx or rx batts yet though, but I've seen the little deans connector. I'll probably get a charger in the next couple of weeks so I can use this radio on my pc and use the new usb realflight g2 controller on the pc downstairs. Tower Hobbies shipped mine yesterday, so I will be back at the simulation in a couple days. I think this is the perfect time to send in my CSM interface to get the ver. 10 upgrade. Heck I want to start building a heli so bad I may even put one of my Tmaxxes on ebay to buy me a heli kit to start on

The TX battery has a special connector which is specific to the radio brand usually consisting of a two pin connector of some sort. The RX battery plugs are the same as the servo plugs (Either Standard connector now used by Hitec,JR, Airtronics or the Futaba standard)

i would like to find a charger/conditioner with 4 or more ports that is digital both infact and in display that discharges and counts down in time and actual mahs like the ace smart-test aaaaaaaaaaand charges using the rpc-reverse pulse charging technique similar to the aforementioned sirius and others and automatically goes to an indefinite maintenance tricle or continues the cycle/conditioning either as needed, as programmed etc/like most mature pilots ive grown tired of buying and finding a home for multiple gadgets when in this new century i should be able to purchase the combined unit!!!!/i expect to pay 4 it but 2 my knowledge the above does not exist anywhere for any price/but i found the near perfect power panel called the power panel plus by cermark, ck it out @ cermark.com/great field equipment combination of digital pwr panel/esv/top off rx/tx/glow igniter charger w/integrated readout all in standard sizing!!!!great job cermark!!!!let c what u can do for battery cycling/charging/conditioning/comments anyone/overseas products and examples welcom.
