HI, I have a 2002 edition 3DNT running a Webra91. Can anyone tell me what are the supposed advantages of:

1) the carbon main gear as opposed to the delrin gear.
and 2) the advantage of the tailblade grips with the additional weights.

When I first built the machine I was going through hell with tail vibrations. It took a while to get somewhere with it, then a servo failure caused a serious crash... For anyone with tail vibrating problems I would advise a serious crash, as after the rebuild it has no vibration problems at all!!

Also, I have only just found out about the weak tail rotor pitch link.. thank god I have practiced pirouetting auto's, it saved the day. Having that thing break in flight (and during chaos) is guaranteed to scare the living daylights out of you! I strongly advise the metal upgrade here!!

Hi,

Quick question, among the parts that were changed because of the crash, did you change :
The rotor hub,
The tail belt
The flybar ?

hello

I changed the flybar.. and the main shaft..
boom and errr only little bits...

bear in mind I stripped it down and rebuilt it.. I'm not exactly sure what I did that fixed it... could even be engine tuning.

don't forget to change the 4 main shaft bearings to and normally the bearings in the rotorhead will be broken to

main carbon gear instead of delrin one : especially less temperature sensible this means that the main belt will have continue pressure, the main belt will also stay better in place

tail blades : for me it's the same thing

helifever,

Hi, I had a good look at the bearings and they seem to be ok.

Do you change these most of the time? thoughout my whole experiences with heli's I've never had to change and main shaft bearings... and I've had some pretty good wipeouts!

thanks for the heads-up on the main gear, i thought it must be something like that but wasn't too sure.

The thing is that the carbon one to me doesn't seem like an upgrade as the belt slips so much easier.. why are there no decent teeth for the belt?

It running well now... it was more of a curiousity question really.

thanks
