Hey Guys,

I finally got the Hughes 500 in the air today, it was a bit windy but I got a few tanks through it after work this afternoon.

Here's a pic of it on it's first flight.

I think I need some more weight forward, it felt a little tail heavy but it has very good power and very little vibration and I tuned most of that out by adding in a touch more pitch at hover to drop the headspeed down to 1500 RPM.

I can't wait to fly it again out at the heli field and hopefully with a little less wind.

It sure was a blast flying it and it looked great in the air! The OS61WC pulled the heli without straining and the Raptor mechanics seem to be very solid and fit this kit quite well.

If you want to see some more pics, go to my website which is linked here. Also, a good friend had his camcorder so I hope to get a few snippets of video that isn't too big. I don't much room on the server for video files.

the 500

Hey KyoshoKamper,

There are several close up pics on my website as well as a build in progress that outlines the kit, mechanics and paint.

Click on my homepage link in the forum and it will take you to my website. Look at the nav. bar on the left side and click on the H500E link and it will load the pages about the 500 project.

I too was tired of seeing the same old paint schemes, I wanted to do something different and when I found the picture on helispot.com of the Breitling H500E I knew I had to build it.

It isn't perfect, but I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

BladeRunner, it was something to finally see this thing in the air. It was worth the time! Glad you guys like it.

Here's a LINK TO A SMALL VIDEO OF THE 500 FLYING

H500E

Sykochin,

The body is a Century 60 Scale H500E. I really like the scheme and it looks totally awesome in the air. It doesn't fly too bad either considering it's over 14 lbs.
