Ron lived with his brother Darrell (45 yrs old) and his brother-in-law Robert Smith in Houston, Texas. They are all close-knit and had to look out for each other as this is all that remains of the family except for one other brother out in California, Robert Kyle (43 yrs old). While Darrell and Robert were not helicopter pilots they were always fascinated with Ron's hobby. Robert said "Ron was always willing to help and loved his hobby..."
As you can imagine they weren't expecting to lose their 41 year old brother at this point in life and any donations made will have a major impact on the expenses of losing a loved one.

Co-worker George Pena in Houston, Texas said something memorable the other day. "Ron loved three things: His family, flying helis, and helping where he could. He died in the very act of doing two of them. What a way to go out."
