Events, Shows and Fun Flys > Did the Vegas funfly change dates???

It seems as though every time I plan to leave rain soaked Washington to go to a funfly, it happens to fall on A. anniversary=Vegas, or B. Her Birthday=phoenix. I was told that the vegas funfly may have changed dates due to confliciting with the superbowl.... Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks, Mike

I turn 21 on Jan 22, now I can play the slots after the sun goes down and a fun day of flying! Although, I'm sure there is gonna be night flying and I'd choose to stay and watch that anyways

How many attend

Last year there was 42 people. We expect a few more this year. We are fortunate at our field that there is no time set on when we can fly. Mind you for us desert rats, we feal its a little cool in the mornings, 45 usually, increasing to around 65 for a high in January. Its dark by 5:00pm so night flying can start early and you still have time Rappy to get to the tables.

hehe...thanks for the info

45 is cold? I moved to the san francisco area from Lake Tahoe. It was 30 or below for much of the winter, and I spent many mornings blowing snow...I consider 45 a blessing.

Many thanks for the info. Perhaps Dr. Tim and I can get together and I can join y'all at the fun fly.

Cheers,

Hawk

I'm there!!! 45 will seem like summer compared to the cold Michigan winter. I was there last and it was a great event. Can't wait to see all you guys on the west coast.

The change of the funfly dates must be an early Christmas present. My wife and I were planning on going to Vegas from Saturday the 26th till the 29th. I don't think I'll bring any helis but it will be great to come out to the funfly to see you guys tear it up!

We're in Euclid right now. Grew up in Seven Hills and Parma. I don't want to go through the trouble of taking the heli through the airlines for such a short stay. So,I guess I'll just have to watch and learn some new tricks to bring back. See you guys there! Looking forward to it. I flew today in mid-30's temps. I didn't think I would need the transmitter mitt so I left it at home. What a mistake.... frozen fingers=not good! I'm not looking forward to even colder flying days.

Well Alex, I grew up in Maple Hts. then in Jr. High we moved to Mayfield Hts. After High school I went to Fla. then for the last 22 yrs out here in Vegas. We flew today and it was also cold, 55 deg. Go ahead and laugh, but thats cold for us when were use to 95 to 115 most of the time. Make sure you look me up at the event.
