e-Electric Batteries & Chargers > Charging separately and connecting in series

I'm sure this has been covered in this forum at least once already, but I've been unable to find it anyway, so here goes:

If I need a 32 cell battery pack, is it ok to charge two packs of (identical type and capacity) 16 cell packs and then connecting them in series?

Regards,
Jens W.

yes you can charge them while the 2 packs are in series. it will work. the down side is if you have one funky cell it can muck things up some. i would suggest that you charge up both backs seperately the first 4 or 5 times then try them charging them together. remember to keep an eye on them and periodically check the cells out with your fingertips to make sure that one cell is not getting significantly hotter than the rest.

I lost my infamous tag line.

Actually, I meant charging the two 16 cell packs while they are not connected and then connecting them to make one 32 cell pack before flying.
