Engines Plugs Mufflers Fuel > Mufflers for an OS 50 - recommendations???

I'm looking for some other recommendation on what type of muffler I could use with an OS-50 in my Ergo. I had my heart set on a KSJ
60 size muffler but so far I have had no luck finding a used one for sale so I'm looking for other options. I am not really interested in going to a tuned pipe though. How do Hatori or Zimmerman mufflers compare in quality and price to the KSJ?

Thanks in Advance.

Muffler

Hi I have an OS50 in my Raptor and am running the ThunderTiger PV0109 for about $45.00 , it is very quiet and makes the motor run very well without any bad tendencies as found with some tunned pipes. It looks like it is a Hatori copy. The OS50 has lots of power and works great with this muffler. This muffler is a good size to allow the motor to breathe properly as well.

I agree

I second Rich's comment.

Just purchased a Raptor 50 and running an OS 50 engine with the supplied muffler and it runs fine. Very quiet.

Hatori

I have the one that Hatori makes for the OS50 in my Raptor 50 and it works awesome!! It is not as quiet as some of the others, but I don't care about quiet. It has a deep sound to it and sounds great. I got it from Heliproz and I think I paid $80 for it. Definately gives more power than the stock, but I ran the stock for a short time and didn't have any problems.

What about the Speed Torpedo muffler from Century (p/n CN3033A I think)? It looks like pretty much an exact copy of the Hatori at half the price.

Too Small

The CN3033A is the same size as the PV0102 TT muffler for the 36. Although Century calls it a 46 size muffler it is way too small for the OS50 and will choke its performance and possibly cause overheating. Go with the PV0109 and you will not be dissapointed.

Century Torpedo

I'll chime in here. I'm running a Century on my Sceadu and had one on my raptor (both .50's). And it makes plenty, did I say plenty, of power. I'm pulling 11 degrees and have still had to bring the throttle down in the curve. I have had no issues with overheating on either machine. The Raptor periodically flew in weather of 100 degrees plus. The hottest day the Sceadu has been in is only 90 degrees. I'm not worried. As far as size, it is on par with the Hatori (it's a knockoff of it).

There's my .02
