RR does not send unsolicited email (spam). The bulk of RR outgoing email is subscription related. All subscription emails contain the following lines.

Any comments, because AOL is again blocking RR email today.

are you sharing your server with anyone else who might be spamming

we've had real nightmares with sending to AOL in the past, they do some really strange anti-spam tests, it's not just about the volume of mails you send.

AOL sucks big time

Im a small ISP and had this problem, tried to address it with them but would not understand I was a legit ISP. I just block AOL completly and tell everyone I know that AOL sucks and to change ISP to other provider.

The RR outgoing SMTP mail server requires authentication to relay mail. You cannot use the server to send email without a password. AOL has never found this not to be the case.

The server hardware and software are dedicated to RR only.

Why is ANYBODY still on AOL???
AOL is the "Training gear" for the internet.
Once you learn the basics on how to get around it's time to take 'em off and move on!

Er, ahhh -

I see nothing wrong with AOL. Works for me and the wife. She likes the on-line games, and I like the Heli-forums.

Only get a couple spams a day now. RR comes in fine.

All together, it is a worth while service, at the moment. Will change ISP's when that is no longer true.

One thing to note about AOL, since AOL is 'friends' with Time Warner in the high speed internet arena(cable modems), RoadRunner customers may also be affected by this AOL mail filtering. When AOL implemented their anti-spam stuff a while back I noticed that the amount of junk mail I got through RoadRunner dropped a lot as well. My question would be, if AOL stops you from sending e-mails to AOL.COM e-mail addresses, are you also having mails blocked from ???.RR.COM addresses?

We had the same problem here @ work.. I had to email my ISP provider and they had to contact some company to remove our addresses off of their spam list.. It's aggrevating to say the least.

I told aohell to go screw themselves over 2 yrs ago. Never been happier. Cant believe I stayed with em for the 6 yrs i did. And if you do try to get rid of em, they bombard you with offers out the wazoo to try and rope you into something else. they just plain SUCK. They took 80 bucks out of my account........2 yrs after i dropped em. told em if they didnt put it back I was gonna sue em. I had my 80 bucks back 2 days later.
