Wa, Wa, you guys should come to Washington state if you want rotten weather .. It never quits raining here .. It has been raining here for 6 weeks straight ..Oh and the wind blows almost all the time to boot .. If you cant fly here in the wind you stay home and out of RC altogether .. I would trade the wind you have in Arizona for this wet crap here ..

HA!

Try about 4 months and counting of crappy weather. Every weekend it seems that its in the 30s and 40s. If its not snow, sleet or rain its winds that a seasoned flyer cant fly in. This weekend it was only about 15-20mph winds, but last weekend it was 20-30 with gusts of 50mph. A not so good flyer like myself has mastered all the helis and planks G2 can have! I just hope all this sim time is making me better. I never flew either one before and now I can torque roll a CAP and hover a heli inverted for a full tank.

I couldn't agree more. I'm on the south shore of LI and we've got nice temps but the wind has made flying miserable.

I have been flying at the Deer park LIRR station

Just on weekends though. No cars. Huge parking lot. But, yes lots of wind. Coram is about 20 miles northeast of me. I found out about the club out there from Larrys hobbies on Jericho TPK. They meet there the second monday of every month around 7:30pm. Im still fairly inexperienced so the parking lot has been fine for me until recently. Im looking for someone to buddy box my bird so I can take it up and test out the FMA Co-Pilot. Im too chicken to do it by myself. I can hover well in G2 and even inverted hover but still got the knock in the knees because its a real heli and I cant just hit the spacebar.

There is a local flying field at the southern end of Cedar Creek Park in Wantagh by the recycling center. There is a local club that controls the field but they restrict the Heli's to very early morning hours on Sat and Sun. It seems to be mostly plank fliers. I've been to a couple of fun flies there. They hold them usually at the end of June. A couple guys show up with Heli's but they don't get to fly much during the day. The club in Coram is all Heli. I have a friend who is a member and I went to a funfly there last year. It's a nice site and a nice bunch of guys.

McKoi,
The Club meets at Larry Hobby in East Northport on the second Monday of the month. The phone number is (631) 499-7166. The guy I spoke to there said you need to take Rt112 North to Jerico (Rt.25) go East and look for a McDonalds on the left and a Jiffy Lube on the right. Just past the Jiffy Lube ther is a dirt road. (as I recall it is on the edge of the Jiffy Lube property) Go down that road to the fork and go to the right. Depending on the weather there is usually somebody there. They are currently working on a web site. You might want to call the Hobby shop before you go to confirm the directions.

Yep thats it!

Dont drive too fast coming up on the Jiffy Lube as you WILL pass it. Fork to the left fork to the right and thats it. You can see a windsock as you drive down the long part of the dirt road. But, thats not it! Just look right and you will see it. Just an open field, grass cut and broken heli parts laying around everywhere. Those were the ones who didnt make it.
