Got Jet Fuel? Turbine Helicopters > Jetcat Battery Question

My Jetcat Battery has acted a little flaky. I measured the voltage at the charge connector, and it read 6.2 volts, low for a 6 cell pack. With the battery disconnected, it read 7.2 volts. Is this due to the computer in some way, or should I worry. Should I just replace the battery just because? It us sure cheaper than repairing the Jetcat.

Thanks, Terry

Worry! Either something is drawing way to much current. Or your not charging the pack. Or you got a funky cell. Fully charged and fresh off of the charger you should be measuring something like 8.1v or a bit higher. If you are really reading 6.2 volts and are going to fly it. Bring a box or boxes with you to help you carry the parts home in. Get it on video! If you are 100% certain that you are fully charging the pack try this, use safety pins or sewing needles to poke into the plastic wrap of your pack and measure the voltage of each cell seperately. If you find one that is amiss you can carefully open the pack at the each end of that one cell and cycle that one cell only (that is if you have a charger that is capable of charging 1 cell only). It is not to infrequent of such things to happen with rechargeable batteries that have been sitting dormant for extended periods. Once you have gotten that dormant cell to come back to life, cycle the whole pack a few times to be certain that it has come back to life. Or simply replace the pack.

Thanks for the Reply

I checked my charger. It was not setting up correctly on auto. Thanks for the reply. I really appreciate it.

ECU Battery pack

If you think there may be a problem with the pack just replace it with a 3300 MAH pack, the 3300 will give you 6 flights per charge.
If in doubt throw it out>>>>

The first thing I replaced was the battery pack to the 3300's and I keep the 1200 pack as a backup. Think of what you have invested in the jetcopter and that alone is a reason to replace the ECU battery.......
