Aerobatic FAI F3C Contest > Big block for F3C ?

Hello guys.
i have the option of flying a Futura SE 70 (very smooth machine) with OS 70 \ Hatori in F3C, versus a millennium 80 (slightly lighter, a little less smooth) with YS80 \ Hatori.

i would like to hear what you guys would prefer, a smoother machine or the benefit of the 80 over the 70 - and why ?

i would also like to hear if you think that a 70 is a little too small today against all the guys flying 91's in F3C competitions... obviously they will have the faster flying machine...

thanks for the tips.

For current F3C requirement, I think large size engine will earn more benefit. So more and more pilot had move on to 91 engine.

So i think YS80 set will be better than OS70 one.

Just a personal opinion.

Have Fun !!!!!

One of the basic requirements in F3C competition is to be consistent in the sense that the speed of your model, the size of your manuvers such as the loops, etc be consistent. Obviously if you want big loops for example, the big block would be a bit easier to keep the speed and size consistent.

Cheers

For the nearby F3C hovering figures probably the heavier, smoother running machine will outperform the lighter one. But 70 or 80, this is marginal difference I think and it's up to your fingers mainly.
For 3D work I would go for the milli+80 though

I would use the Futura SE 70 cause it is smooth and it will hover good. You win or lose an F3C comp in the hovering. The aerobatics only define how much you win or lose by.

Although not part of the judging criteria, judges will always look more favourably on a nice smooth machine rather than a loud, vibrating one.

A 70 is enough for the aeros, you just make the aeros slightly smaller which you will not get downgraded for.
