Hi all,
Could anyone point me in the right direction please.
I have just completed my Fury canopy, only to find my clear coat is coming out dull in places.
Will i be able to polish this back to a gloss finish when fully hardened or do i need to recoat it.
I only have access to Aerosol cans not a proper spraygun.

Any advice welcome

Thanks

Thanks for your reply Joe,
Could it be that the temperature was a little too low.
I had previously applied clear the day before and that came out good.
I have now used two 300ml cans on this canopy,so i guess it must be quite thick by now.

Thanks.

Hi Mort,
I think the temp may have been too low,
around 7c.In my garage.
The finish has a sort of fog to it,only in some places though.
I suppose i should have left it as it was instead of trying to clear coat more

Thanks.

martwill,

After the clear had dried, was the fog still there? That temperature of 44.6 degree's was a little low there!

Hi Mort,
Yes the fog was there after it dried.
I think the temp was way to low,
I have now recoated it and it is fine.
How long should i leave it before i use rubbing compound on it?
Thanks for your help everyone.
I may even post a pic of it later

Martwill.

martwill,

Glad to hear that the fog is gone! Does the can tell how long to let it dry? I'd give it 24 to 48 hours to dry, before you rub it out.

Hi Mort,
The can says two weeks!!!
I really didn't want to wait that long,
so i thought i would ask the experts.

Thanks.
